Chemical Plant Pipeline Leak Detection with Helium & Nitrogen Pumping Services
Using Industrial Gases to Localize Leaks Before They Impact Your Bottom Line
Leak Detection for Pipelines and Plant Piping Systems
Our service uses a helium tracer in a gas, usually with nitrogen as a carrier gas, and a sensitive helium detector to quickly locate leaks. The normal fluid is removed from the line, the line is pressurized with the test gas, and then the helium detector is used to sense the presence of helium in the air above the line.
Leak Location for Long-distance Pipelines
Our SeeperTrace™ leak detection service quickly, accurately and cost-effectively locates leaks in buried long-distance pipelines that carry liquids, gases or multi-phase products. It involves adding a tracer to either nitrogen gas or water. A leak as small as 2.5 gallons per day can be detected without service interruption or excavation. SeeperTrace thus allows leaks to be repaired and the test completed without costly project delays.
