For easy, on-demand oxygen production
Pressure Swing Adsorption
Oxygen can also be produced non-cryogenically, in gaseous form, using selective adsorption process. In this process, the gases in the atmosphere are passed through a high-pressure medium, to attract gases to solid surfaces which leads to adsorption of other constituent gases in the atmosphere and Oxygen is separated. The higher the pressure, the more the adsorption of gas.
When a gas mixture such as air is passed under pressure through a vessel containing an adsorbent bed of ‘zeolite’ that adsorbs nitrogen more strongly than oxygen, all of the nitrogen will stay in the bed, and the gas exiting the vessel will be richer in oxygen, relative to the mixture entering the vessel. Our PSA oxygen generator plants are based on a reliable, flexible, and trouble-free pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process. They are the perfect fit for hospitals requiring on-stream applications that require low-cost gaseous oxygen with low purity levels. A PSA can only produce Oxygen 93 percent IP (Min purity 90%, Max purity 96% as per Indian Pharmacopoeia2018). The PSA plant normally produces Oxygen with a purity between 93% to 95% with minor variations.
Benefits for having a Linde PSA at your facilities are:
- Linde provides the PSA Plants at Hire, Operation and Maintenance basis (no CAPEX investment from the hospital) on a long-term basis.
- Linde covers all sorts of maintenance which are; Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, Conditional Maintenance
- Linde gives 24*7 operation of PSA
- Linde can support with backup supply of Medical Oxygen (Compressed or Liquid form) thus ensuring total gas management.
- Linde offers remote monitoring of plant.
- Online analyzers with automatic change over system in case of low purity or pressure.
Technical Specification of PSA Plants
- Plant Size: Wide range of Plants is available (9 m3/hr. to 154 m3/hr.)
- Oxygen Purity: 93%+/- 3%
- Control Panel with alarm system integrated with PLC
